Welcome to the project<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This project aims to investigate the dynamic interaction between linguistic variation and phonological development of Greek as a first language (L1), as well as the role of input frequency in this interaction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To achieve these goals, we will employ a mixed research methodology that combines qualitative and quantitative approaches. Specifically, we will examine the influence of input frequency on children acquiring Modern Greek as L1, as well as those exposed to Greek dialectal variations. Additionally, we will consider macro-variables <\/em>such as sociolinguistic factors, including gender.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To accomplish our goals, we will conduct large-scale fieldwork to collect children’s speech data. Our analysis will involve studying the speech patterns and the developmental paths of Greek children, who will be divided into nine semi-annual age groups, ranging from 18 months to 6 years (preschoolers).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
